Nada Yoga & Ayurveda Immersion:  Rishikesh

Sound Mediation & Wellness Retreat at the Ganges River

February 26th - March 5th, 2027

At the foothills of the Himalayas, where the Ganges River emerges in its most pristine form, Rishikesh has long been revered as a sacred meeting place of nature, spirituality, and inner inquiry. Known as the birthplace of yoga, this extraordinary landscape carries a palpable stillness, one that has drawn seekers, musicians, and practitioners for centuries.

There are places in the world where the space itself seems to listen, where the movement of water, the quiet presence of the mountains, and the subtle resonance of sound create an atmosphere that naturally invites you inward. Rishikesh is one of those places.

In India, sound, ritual, and daily life are deeply intertwined. Music is not separate from spirituality, but a direct pathway into it. Mantra, rhythm, and silence exist as living traditions, woven into both sacred ceremony and everyday experience.

This retreat invites you into that living field, where listening becomes a practice, sound becomes a bridge, and the inner and outer worlds begin to resonate as one.

Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems, centered on creating balance between body, mind, spirit, and the rhythms of nature. Rather than treating wellness as a one-size-fits-all approach, Ayurveda recognizes each person’s unique constitution and works to restore harmony through nourishment, daily ritual, herbal therapies, movement, breath, and restorative treatments.

During this retreat, Ayurveda becomes part of the lived experience. Through personalized consultations, nourishing sattvic meals, yoga, and included therapeutic treatments, participants are invited into a slower, more intentional rhythm designed to replenish the nervous system and support deep restoration. Set within the peaceful natural environment of Rishikesh, these practices offer an opportunity to reconnect with the body’s innate intelligence while creating space for greater clarity, vitality, and presence.

Nada Yoga is the ancient Indian yoga of sound, one of the oldest spiritual practices on Earth. Nada means "sound" or "flow," and this tradition teaches that all of creation is vibration and that sound is a direct pathway into our deepest nature.

Unlike performance-based music-making, Nada Yoga treats listening itself as the practice. It embraces everything from the outer sounds of music and mantra, to the subtler inner sounds of breath, silence, and the body's own resonance. In India, music is not separate from spirituality but a direct pathway into it. Mantra, rhythm, and silence exist as living traditions, woven into both sacred ceremony and everyday experience.

Throughout our week on the banks of the Ganges, Nada Yoga is a daily lived practice. Guided by Lynda and Mihika, you will explore kirtan and group chanting, meditative live Indian music, and deep listening meditation rooted in Nada Yoga principles. Together, these practices invite you into a living field where listening becomes meditation, sound becomes a bridge, and the inner and outer worlds begin to resonate as one.

The potent energy of the Ganges...

It's something that is only understood when you are present at the banks of this powerful river.  This is the birthplace of meditation and yoga set in this magical mountainous valley at the foot of the Himalayas.  When I first reached the water's edge and sat down to feel and observe the water rushing by, I was immediately brought to tears.  All I could say is, 'There is so much love here.'  Then a little magical being named Lakshmi showed up and blessed me with a third eye stamp, and I could resist taking a picture with her.  I can't wait to share this magical place with you and all the wisdom it holds. There is so much to gain be just being present here.
